Education and Experience
Hi! I'm DeAnn. I have a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and a Master's and Ph.D. from Utah State University. Besides teaching home-based preschool for 9+ years, I also teach online early childhood education classes for Purdue University Global and North Seattle College. I have also taught at Utah State University and Montana State University. The combination of teaching both Early Childhood Education students and preschool children works great, because I am teaching the same up-to-date, research-based methods to college students that I also use in my own preschool programs. I am now excited to teach preschool teachers the same research-based practices I teach college students, yet without the high cost of tuition!

What is pre-recorded?
At a convenient time, students will watch videos that have been pre-recorded by DeAnn Jones with the content listed above. The videos use lectures, activities, and self-reflection exercises to test your knowledge of the concepts learned. Students can view these videos at their own pace.
Live Zoom Class
What is the Live Zoom?
There will be two one-hour Live Zoom classes during the course for students to discuss what they are learning, ask questions, and do additional activities to take what is learned and implement it into their programs. Students can share with the group what they have created for their programs based on the things they learned in the class.

- How many hours long is the course? I do not know yet, because I have only recorded two videos so far. I am creating them as we go. You are getting the founding family experience! I will create it as we go based on your interests and feedback. I imagine it will be about 5-10 hours total, which includes the 2 hours of Zoom for sharing what we've implemented into our preschools. I might add extra bonus videos, but I will try to value your time by packing in the best, most important information, while also giving you a good "college" experience.
- When will this class start and when will it end? Good question. It opened up on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021. Content will appear every few days or so as we go. You will have access for at least 3-6 months so you can go back through and review content as needed.
- What are the 5 courses that the content will come from? The classes are "Introduction to Early Childhood Education", "Early Childhood Development", "Theories of Development", "Curriculum Development", and "Guiding Children's Behavior".
- Do I need to purchase a textbook? No. I might suggest an inexpensive one, but I won't require you to purchase anything beyond the $27 tuition for the course. There are no other hidden costs!
- What time will the Zoom class be? I will get a consensus from the class on when to hold the Zoom classes. It will either be an evening or a Saturday.
- What if I cannot attend the Zoom time that the class decides? It will be recorded, so you can ask your questions ahead of time and even record a video of yourself sharing what you implemented into your program, This will be a fun opportunity to hear from the other students what they are learning and doing with what they learned! Then you can watch the recording!
- Can I connect with the other students in the class in a private FB group? Yes. I have it set up and ready to go! Several participants are already in and introducing themselves.
- Can I ask questions about what I'm learning as I go? Yes. We will do that in the private Facebook group and in the Zoom classes.
- What requirements do I need to participate? You'll need a computer that can play videos plus a way to get Zoom and share your camera. Sharing your camera is not required, but it will be fun to see everyone!
- I'm not technical. Will you show me how to log in? Yes. I can walk you through the process. It's easy!
- What platform is this using? I will use Zoom for the Zoom classes. The videos will be links that I share in the member area once you register.
If you wait, the price will be $97 for the course, which is still a good deal.
